Intention: Michael Hanna

Millennium Court Arts Centre will host a series of screenings of work by Michael Hanna as part of the gallery’s Artist in Residency programme. These screenings will take place over a six month period and will culminate in an exhibition of the artists’ work in Autumn 2013.

Each screening will take place in a different room in the gallery and each will be based on a different area of psychology.

Creative Craigavon Project Launch at Brownlow Hub

To help celebrate the launch of this project, the Creative Craigavon project team and staff at Brownlow Community Hub are holding a free open event at The Hub on Saturday 2nd March at 1pm. There will be music, dance, ceramics and pottery, willow weaving, digital music, photography, digital media and art workshops. There will also be an opportunity to meet arts groups and artists and get information from Community Arts Partnership, Art Take Part, Test Drive the Arts, Visual Artists Ireland, Creative Edge and to get advice on grant aid. 

Creative Craigavon is a joint project between Arts Development (Craigavon Borough Council), Craigavon Arts In Motion (C-Aim) and Millennium Court Arts Centre. It is aimed at profiling and promoting the arts in Craigavon.

Creative Writing Workshops with Belfast based poet Ben Maier

Millennium Court Arts Centre and Portadown Library (Libraries NI) have teamed up to present a creative writing workshop with Belfast based poet Ben Maier inspired by our current exhibition Trouble = Progress.  BIO: "Ben Maier is a poet and performer. He is currently completing a PhD on 'radio poetry' at the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry, where he has also facilitated numerous creative writing workshops and classes. Recent poems have been published in Irish Pages and The Salt Book of Younger Poets. He regularly performs his poetry in Belfast and abroad. His one-man show An Imaginary Circus was praised as a 'magical, energetic and vital tour de force'."
