Using beautiful yarn, learn how to crochet the now hip, modern and gorgeous granny square and explore several different techniques, in a relaxed and friendly environment and go home with a stash of squares and inspiration. This class suits beginners and all materials will be provided.

August Craft Month
Silversmithing (Daylong Workshop)
Saturday 31 August, 10 - 4PM, £40
You will be taught traditional jewellery making techniques such as piercing, soldering, rolling, annealing and polishing, enabling you to design a bracelet. Class is led by designer, gold and silversmith Diane Lyness.
Throw-A-Pot (limited to 5 places)
Wednesdays from 7 August
7 - 9 pm, 4 weeks, £30
Learn the method and technique for throwing a pot under the guidance of experienced ceramicist Ciara Campbell- Crawford, then personalise with paint and glaze.
‘This Place’ is part of a new creative initiative called ‘Connected’, jointly funded by Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. MCAC are delighted to be working alongside Amanda Coogan (April - June) and Tonya McMullan (September – December) on their residencies connecting with groups and the people in the surrounding area to deliver enjoyable, social and memorable creative experiences within the gallery and community.

Fold and Rise
Saturday 8 June 10 - 12 noon - £2 pp
Through discussion and kneading of dough participants explore the fold and rise in individual lives and in collective experience. Each individual makes their own sourdough wrapped in muslin to take home and bake, continuing the engagement with the familiar hospitality of family and friends. Fold and Rise is the collaborative art practice of artists Maeve Collins and Julie Griffiths, supported by the National Women’s Council of Ireland.
