ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS DRAWING
Saturdays from 13 January, 2-4 pm, £20
The Absolute Beginners guide to drawing. Learn the essential skills in a relaxed atmosphere. No experience necessary.
Saturday 3 February, 10-4 PM, £25 per session (or £60 for 3)
An opportunity to draw from a life model under the guidance of an experienced tutor, perfect for portfolio building. Suitable for all levels.
Wednesdays from 21 February, 7-9PM, £50
Learn and develop hand building techniques for individual sculptural design projects.
CATALAN WILLOW PLATTERS
Saturday 3 March, 10 – 4pm
These simple and elegant platters come from the Catalan region of Spain. This workshop is a great introduction to willow work, creating something sturdy, functional and attractive.
PAINTING FOR PLEASURE
Thursdays from 8 March, 10:30-12:30pm, £20
A relaxed class for all levels of ability, participants encouraged to develop their chosen medium. (Bring your own materials)
(DAY LONG WORKSHOP)
Saturday 24 March, 10-4pm, £40
You will be taught traditional jewellery making techniques such as piercing, soldering, rolling, annealing and polishing, enabling you to design a necklace/earring. Class is led by designer, gold and silversmith Diane Lyness.
DIGITAL SLR WORKSHOP
Saturday 14 April 10-4 pm
The aim of this workshop is to develop what you see and improve your ability to capture it. Move away from ‘auto’ mode becoming confident in use of Aperture and Shutter Priority modes.
SINEAD MCKEEVER - ANTENNA
Saturday 24 February, 10-4pm, £15
Artist Sinead McKeever leads an experimental workshop exploring a variety of mixed media. Discover techniques used in her work and create a take-home colourful and innovative artwork. Participants will be working with dibond, paper, nail varnish, markers, washi tapes, stencils and found tools. This is a great way to develop your knowledge and skills of working with mixed media.
ALICE BURNS - THREE WALKS
Saturday 12 May 10-4pm, £15
Work alongside artist Alice Burns using techniques within her exhibition which include Pate de Verre printmaking and glass, to create your own stylised piece of art.
ROBIN PRICE - OXFORD ISLAND OUTREACH PROJECT
MCAC Education team will work alongside sound artist Robin Price to deliver an integrated schools programme which will look at the ‘World Around Us’. Participants will be encouraged to experiment and investigate the natural environment introducing both simple techniques and new technologies.
